From scpinmd's page: "The Citadel is one of Jerusalem's most famous sites. It used to be Herod's palace back in the 1st century. ... We went in and were surprised to find out a light and music show was about to happen. Well, we had no clue what to expect and I am not one fond of mixing modern and historic, but this worked. It was the coolest thing I had seen in a long time! There were drums and huge guitars playing with subdued lighting that moved in time to the music. Trust me, it was not cheesy at all."

A beautiful tranquil corner of Jerusalem, away from the dust and heat and historic sounds of endless war - a green subuorb with old golden stone houses and plenty of trees. On a hillside with marvellous views, it has cool breezes which are a welcome relief in the heat of the local summer, producing an atmosphere of Tuscany, here in the Middle East. A place where people of all religions and nationalities live happily side by side.

Holy Sepulchre is the most holy worship site for ALL Christians. Vatican City and the Pope belong to Catholic Church, and this site in Jerusalem is holy for most other Christian groups as well. This Church encloses Golgotha, where Jesus Christ was crucified, the Stone of the Anointing, believed to be the place where Jesus' body was prepared for burial, and the tomb (sepulchre) where He was buried. The Rock of Mount Moriah inside the Dome. Beneath the Dome of this magnificcent building lies the rock of Mount Moriah. It is 15 yards long, 12 yards wide and rises to a height of 2 yards above the ground. This is the traditional rock where Abraham prepared to sacrifice his son, Isaac. Moslems believe that Abraham took his son Ishmael to sacrifice, and not Isaac. They also believe that the Prophet Mohammed ascended to heaven in a night journey from this rock.

The Golden Gate is the most impressive gate in Jerusalem, and the only visible entrance to the city of Jerusalem from the East. This oldest of all the gates to the city was the only one not rebuilt by Suleiman the Magnificent in AD 1539-42. Monolithic stones in the wall just above ground have been identified as 6th Century BC masonry from the time of Nehemiah. The Golden Gate was walled up by the Arabs in the year 810. It has remained closed now for nearly 12 centuries. The Golden Gate has long interested many Muslims, most Jews and Christians as the place of the Last Judgment. Historically, judgments were rendered in the gates of the city (Gen. 19:1, 23:10, for instance). Since the Messiah was to come from the East (Matthew 24:27), it was concluded that his judgment would be at the eastern gate. This is one reason for the many Muslim, Christian, and Jewish graves on the Eastern slopes of the Temple Mount, in the Kidron Valley, and on the Western slopes of the Mount of Olives Some Muslims place Allah's final judgment at this location also. Jews link the Messiah's arrival with this gate and Christians have for centuries associated the Golden Gate with Palm Sunday and also with the Second Advent (Luke 19:35-38). Muslims compare the final judgment of mankind to the crossing of a narrow knife blade which stretches from a mountain (the Mount of Olives is often mentioned in Arab legend) to the "gate of heaven." This knife-edged bridge evidently spans the Kidron Valley - as did an ancient stone bridge in Roman times.
