Bremen, with a glorius past of over 1200 years has many heritage buildings and tourist attractions and in the year 2004, it was declared as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. The well preserved buildings, well maintained streets and clean surroundings amply testifies the city's glorious past and cultural heritage. In the city, visitors find a unique blend of traditional heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere. One good thing about the city is that many of the main attractions in the city are located within a small concentrated area (the Market place) which is just 10 minutes walk from the Central station. So, if tourists plan a very short visit, they can still catch up with most of the happenings around those tourist attractions.
The best way to discover Bremen is by walking around as most of the attractions are concentrated in just a small area. But ofcourse there are places that are far away and for visiting those one needs trams or buses.
The city of Bremen is situated on the bank of river Weser in the German state of Frei und Hansestadt Bremen in the Northern part of the country very close to Hamburg with good transportation links from Hamburg. Bremerhaven, another city in the state is also located closeby. So if one plans a trip of more than a day, Bremerhaven is another option. Ofcourse we did not have the chance to as our trip was short and its always difficult to travel as per your wish with a small baby. Everything so much depends upon the mood of the Baby. But yes, Urja was in a good mood on that day. She enjoyed too.
To list a few attractions in the city of Bremen, there are some that we were able to visit and some that we could not make to. Nevertheless, there can always be a second chance. So among those that we had a chance to see are the Market Square, the Statue of Roland, the statue of the Bremen Town musicians, the Townhall (Rathaus), the Schnoor quarter, St. Peter's Cathedral, Bremen's Parliament, Schuetting (guildhall), Boetcharstrasse, etc. and among those that we missed are the Universum.
During our visit the Freimarkt Fair, the oldest Fair in Germany and the largest in Northern Germany, was going on. It has a long tradition and was irst held in 1035. This was the 972nd one. It has more than four million visitors each year. It is celebrated for about 17 days in the last two weeks of October and is composed of the "Kleiner Freimarkt" (Small Free Fair) at the market square, and the main one at the "Bürgerweide" near the Central Railway Station. There are a number of beer tents, food stalls, chocolate stalls and amusement rides for children.
- In a nutshell:A beautiful small city

It says "Wilhelm-Kaisen Bürgerhilfe", which is a charity. I know you're not with German, but google translator might be enough to decipher their website http://www.bremer-helfen-bremern.de/ hope this helps.
