Sun, sand and sea and lots of fun

by Rupanworld - last update: May 26, 2009

The visit to goa in February 2009 has been one of the most remarkable trips in my life. It definitely is a dream destination. I am so happy to have been able to make it there. And this time, I was with family and I guess that's what made all the difference.
The above picture is that from a hoarding of Navhind Times, a popular English newspaper in Goa and I believe this slogan rightly captures the spirit of Goa and also at the same time, it wraps up my entire Goan experience.
The very thought of Goa brings into mind sun, sand, beautiful beaches, music, good (and spicy) food, coconuts, cashews and fenny. Our trip was really memorable from all these aspects. The time was perfect, the weather was just too good, not very hot, not cold at all, but very sunny, no rains and it was the spring too.
We had a nice trip to all the beaches possible. We have been to around 10 beaches and loved them all. Viewing churches, forts and old town of Goa with UNESCO World heritages were also great achievements.
We stayed at a nice but small family hotel very close to the Miramar beach and made the most of our time there, walking down to the beach every time we had no other plan. We also enjoyed a lot of Goan wine Fenny with traditional Goan cuisine. Not only me and my husband, my daughter also loved every moment. She collected sea shells, first time in her life and still cherishes that in memory.
