Lake Nakuru National Park

This is a secleduded game drive in the wilderness of 6,400 acre conservacy. it locatred in Riftvalley province of Kenya, you will be welcomed with different types of animals some posing for you to take their photos..ha ha!

The Lake......

Lake Nakuru is a very shallow strongly alkaline lake 62 km2 in extent. It is set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland next to Nakuru town. The landscape includes areas of marsh and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops, stretches of acacia woodland and rocky hillsides covered with a Euphorbia forest on the eastern perimeter.
Sometimes you might think God must have been spending alittle more time in some places, becouse this place has a very unique vegetation of more than 550 different plant species, with unique and biggest euphorbia forest in Africa, the Picturesque landscape is superb decorated with yellow acacia woodlands.

Not only a paradise for bird watchers..

Too bad i dont have photos for the actual lake and the vegetation, but i will take some next time am there.
Apart from the major attraction the Flamingoes (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds including a variety of terrestrial birds, this place is a home for many Mammals, there are more than 56 different species as we were told by our guide, including white rhinos. Just besides the lake is a menegai crater with View-points of Lion hill, Baboon cliff and Out of Africa. Then theres a hill named honeymoon hill, , and as we were just there we could see some couples there on their honeymoon at the top of the cliff, there are Bandas camp meant for just that, its a great treat by the way, no wonder it was named honeymoon hill, then theres Lion hill ridge and Enasoit.

Lake nakuru has endless attractions with lots of things to do,wish had taken more photos to show you what i mean, you can end your game drive by visiting the Makalia Waterfalls great place for photography.

I would love to learn some words in Swahili, but I would be afraid of "damaging" the locals...they would injure themselves laughing at my pronunciation !! Looking forward to visiting your country one day.
