Finally got a chance to visit Chicago after wanting to go for more than a year. Its reputation as the 'windy city' didn't disappoint since the night before I was supposed to go it was slammed with 70mph wind and storm and my flight was canceled.
9 hours later than planned I got to this metropolitan of the Midwest. If first impressions are important than Chicago earns a high mark as a humble metropolis. It has all the right ingredients: culture, architecture, efficient transport but it doesn't have the lights and billboards of Manhattan. You don't have to fight your way to cross a street. It doesn't have the flashy Ferarri's and Porche's of LA either.
I like its humble pride :) |
