Sagrada Familia ... I went there and I stayed there staring at it for a long time before I was able to walk again. Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece is a truly breathtaking sight. This Roman church has been a work in progress since the turn of the last century. Gaudi's original design can be seen on one side of the church, called the 'nativity' facade and it has what I call the 'cornerless design'. It is adored with many statues and I don't know how to quite put it - there are almost like no corners to be found. The other side called the 'passion' facade has elements of cubism - with symmetrical shapes - are built by other architects who took over after his death. Rising into the sky are decorated towers with little 'windows' which I was told symbolize Christ and his disciples. You should definitely pay a visit when traveling to Barcelona.

Parc Guell is a huge garden located North of the city center. This is a very famous garden for its structures that are built by the most famous Catalan architect, Gaudi. The famous architectures include the mozaic lizard at the entrance, the 'cornerless' balcony, columns and swirling square benches. It is really hard to describe the architecture brilliance in words so please just take a look at the pictures :) Also, on a hill at the highest point of the park you get a pristine view of the whole city and the sea. The park is open daily from 10am till dusk

Camp Nou, home of FC Barcelona is one of the few FIFA 5 star rated stadium. It is also one of the biggest (if not the biggest?) football stadiums in Europe. With capacity of close to 100,000 spectators it is a truly magnificent sight. Within the complex there are several things to do: visit the museum, do a tour of the stadium and facilities itself and shop at the fanshop. The stadium and museum is open daily; museum open from 10am to 10pm on Monday-Saturday while on Sunday it's open until 3pm. Keep in mind that the stadium tour is not available on big matchday (like when they play home in the European Champions League). Entry to museum cost Eur 7.5 for adults and the tour & museum cost Eur 11.5 for adults.

Poble Espanyol is a rather small but entertaining open air museum in the Montjuic hill area. The open air museum features architectures from different parts of Spain and in the large square you can sit and eat snacks while soaking the sun. There are many shops in the complex selling crafts and souvenirs. On a good sunny day it's a lot of fun coming here; just be prepared and bring a bottle of water since the hike up the hill will leave you thirsty :) Admission to the complex costs 7.5 Euro for adults. It is open daily from 9am until 10pm on Mondays and until past midnight on other days.

La Rambla is a mile (maybe less) very popular pedestrian only street lined up with shops, stalls, restaurants, bars and hotels located close to the Bari Gothic area. It ends with the statue of Christoper Columbus by the port of Barcelona. It's one of those things that I just had to do because it is a famous street; but to be honest I don't really enjoy it much. There were just loads and loads of people for it to be an enjoyable walk. You should do it though - at least once ... but if you go in the summer, be careful of pickpockets :)

The cathedral of Santa Eulalia, or sometimes called La Seu is probably the main focal point of the Bari Gothic area in Barcelona. This beautiful Gothic church is a sight to be amazed. Or is it just that I'm a sucker for Gothic architecture? There are statues on display inside ... and of course the crypt of Santa Eulalia. However the most peculiar thing is perhaps the cloister as they keep 13 geese there :) Why? I've been told that Santa Eulalia was 13 when she died.

Plaza Catalunya can be considered as "THE" center of Barcelona. It is a huge open square surrounded by shops, offices, cafe's and is used by many tourists and locals as a meeting point. It is always crowded, on a nice sunny day it is enjoyable to sit at one of the cafe's and watch people. Otherwise, well it's just a big, nice meeting point :)
