IRELAND - A Dream Come True

Dublin

Dublins Ha' Penny Bridge across the River Liffey
Something inside of me had always longed to see Ireland in person. I never dreamed I would actually get to do this, but it happend 2 years ago. Our first stop in Ireland was Dublin--this was the second part of our trip in 2005. Our group of 4 arrived by taxi at the Avalon House, a hostel located in the heart of Dublin and our lodging for 3 nights! Our hostel experience provided much entertainment later on as we recalled our experience there. Overall our stay in Dublin was great. Our taxi drivers were very friendly and gave us helpful tips on things to do one being to be sure and give Burdocks a try. Burdocks is a traditional Fish 'N Chips place established since 1913. We walked over and picked up a couple of orders then walked to a little green by St. Patricks Church and we had a lovely picnic under the trees. I loved walking the city streets, O'Connell, Grafton, St. George's, the Temple Bar area, strolling through St. Stephen's Green and alongside the River Liffey.

I have been to a lot of fish n chip spots world wide. This is the best in the world! I would fly 18 hours with lay overs just to enjoy the fish n chips at Burdocks.

Sounds like you had a great time! I will definitely try that fish'n chips on my visit in September...
