Bhuj

Bhuj Town, known after the Bhujiya Hill. Established in 1552 by Khengarji-I, town was protected by great wall and 5 giant gates. Most precious treasures are Hamirsar Lake, Prag Mahel (Dutch style architectures) Aina Mahel (mirror palace) Kutch Museum (first museum in Gujarat) and my favorite traditional market full of colourful cloths, handicrafts, rich smell of spices, vegetable and fruits, pedestrians in their traditional appearance besides wandering cows, bullying horn of two wheelers. Yet Incredibly Interesting Historic Town.

Hodka Banni

Hodka is growing tourist destination in the middle of Great Rann of Kutch, 62 km north of Bhuj, Eco tourist resort, wonderful handicraft and village life, traditional huts (Bhunga- made out of grass and mud)

Great Rann of Kutch

Once upon time it was Indus river merging Arabian sea from Kutch. But 1819 Earthquakes changed course of river Indus and left dry river bed, gradually filled by sea water and hot summer heat turned this river bed into the Great Salt plane of Kutch. also known as Great Rann of Kutch where nothingness rules besides some traditional communities living with their cattle, women busy with embroidery works and simplicity is still in Fashion.
