Marco Island is set in the ten thousand islands on the gulf of mexico. Its about 15 miles south of Naples/FL. Lived here for six years and had a ball. After purchasing my one and only boat(Boston Whaler 25' walkround), Marco became great fun. Weekends revolved around cases of cold beer and fishing trips into the gulf or the backwaters of the everglandes. One of the setbacks of living or visiting Southern Florida is the bugs. BUGS,BUGS,&MORE BUGS. Still on the upside, there was always the fishing. |
| | betty One of my favourite haunts was(and probably still is)TheSnook Inn. Great place to hang out under the chickee with a few cold ones. Betty(the owner)would just keep the beers coming. During a storm, hanging out here could leave you a little worse for wear(Storms could last a while). Some great fish restaurants in that part of town(known as Old Marco). |
