looking a little frayed at the edges Palermo itself is probably not the best place to stay for a vacation. For tourists, it can be a little intimidating. There is some beautiful baroque architecture, but just as much modern concrete(thanks to a certain body of men who live there). There are still bombed out buildings from the last world war.
Several huge daily flea markets but watch out for pickpockets. They can sniff out a tourist from great distances.
Sicily is absolutely beautiful, but like most capital cities, Palermo has its problems. |

Palermo is dangerouse like NYC or London...dipends wher u go, what u do..I spent many days alone in Pa inthe Mercato del Capo, Ballarò and otside alone in the night...no fear like in Guadalupe island! | maztek Fri Dec 7, 2007 17:01 UTC
