Visiting Venice is a serene trip back in time. My wife and I havent visited for a while but are going back again in Sept. 2007. We cant get enough.
Crossing by Alilaguna from the Airport with the sun coming up is breathtaking. So many things to see and do. Visit Murano and see traditional glass blowing or Burano for the fine lacework. Just laze around on the beach at Lido. More importantly, there are wonderful galleries and churches crammed full of byzantine and Venetian art. Just hopping on and off the waterbuses(vaporetti)is good fun in itself.
Winter time in Venice is our favourite time when the air is crisp and most of us tourists are sunbathing in Teneriffe or Costa del Sol. Venice has an air of mystery at this time of year.

Great Picture. I love the angle, not the usual view down the canal. It really shows the place at it's best.
