I did not stay at the Venetian but would highly recommend it if you would like a romantic stay in Las Vegas. Or, if you love Italy! I toured the gigantic hotel. Great gift shop. They have gondola rides throughout the bottom floor. They have opera street performances, mimes, and live statues. It's just a really fun experience. While gambling in this hotel the cocktail waitresses were friendly, helpful, and always ready when our drinks were getting low. The casino is really alive and I never had to wait for a drink! Definitely worth the money if you can splurge. Always look for travel deals/packages for cheaper rates.
Unique Qualities: The painted ceilings and opera performances really made the hotel stand out. You just have to see it to know what I'm talking about! They have anything available for you from golfing to eating del fresco to shows to wedding packages. Just find what best suites you!

I didn't stay at Mandalay Bay but I would have if I had had children with me or if I liked the beach. At the time they had a wave pool and a lazy river (although their new website doesn't show that). I love that sort of thing so I wanted to stay there but the people I went with did not so.... I toured the hotel. Well, not all of it, but some of it. It's the last hotel on the strip so my feet were tired. I saw some fish aquariums and the casino but that was about it. I know they have a lot more to offer than that. They have shows, the new man-made beach, casinos, restaurants and more. Again, prices vary so just look at rates and deals that the newspaper has or online.
Unique Qualities: I would definitely recommend this hotel if you didn't want to wander all over the strip and if you wanted to spend your time lazing around water. If you bring children I would definitely stay here!

Bally's Las Vegas: Cheaper than the Rest (sometimes)

I was ok with our stay at Bally's. It has a small casino but very do-able. They had a nice pool and services. I liked the Sbarro's Pizza by the pool because we could order a pizza at like midnight and just take it up to the room. I didn't enjoy the bartenders or the waitresses (I forget what you call them!). As a female I couldn't get a drink to save my life. When I actually did turn 21 I got carded almost every 5 minutes just being on the floor. HOWEVER, it does connect to Paris and that was very cool!
Unique Qualities: I was there during a renovation period so I may not have the best experience...
