| | This Week in the Life Travels of Brandy June 23, 2008
I have gotten kinda burnt out on the travel thing. More disheartened than anything else, really. This week I think I'm just going to enjoy a week off of summer fun. Sleep in. Get ready for the garage sale. Read some library books. Work on lesson plans. Etc, etc. |
Travels To Come in '08 This year I'm planning to visit: Houston, Texas (more in depth)Dallas, Texas (more in depth)Fort Worth, Texas Hill Country, Texas Hartford, Connecticut Savannah, Georgia Chicago, Illinois Niagra Falls New Orleans, Louisiana (again)Natchez Trace, Mississippi Kansas City, Missouri Las Vegas, Nevada (again)Jacksonville, North Carolina (again)Wilmington, North Carolina London, England If you have information to share, live at one of these places, or are traveling that way too let me know! |

| | Who Is She?? Well, currently I am on my summer break from teaching second grade. Therefore, progress on my pages are picking up. As I continue to plan some exciting trips I hope you'll look at what I do have in my short time of travel ages.
I want to thank all the lovely people who have guided me on here. From book lists to forums to emails. |
| | 1,000 Places To See Before You Die This book has really energized my travel and driven me to get out in this beautiful world. So many times we can watch, or read, the news and fear for the state of our planet. Then, we can book a trip across the world and still find beauty of the natural earth, happiness in friendly people of all countries, and simplicity that will bring our life to a higher level of being. |
| | Literature I love to read. It's one of the reasons my day job is a second grade teacher :) I love teaching people to read, as well. Because of this, I try and read literature that belongs to a certain destination ahead of time or while traveling. If you guys have any book lists I'd love for you to share them with me. I think it makes the traveling come more alive. |

| I'm a big fan of Patricia Schultz and her books! |
| | New Book! My travel philosophy:
I am quite shy when I am new to a place. Well, that's not true. I'm quite shy all of the time. However, you will never see me in a hostal. You'll never see me take $20 and see how far I can get with it. I pay for first class hotels and airlines. I promised myself as a young adult that I would earn the best for myself and it comes through in my traveling as well. Most of my travels are centered around first class, five star hotels including many mansions and famous hotels. When I travel to other countries I've never been I take an American tour company. I don't feel safe...and that's the sad truth of our world sometimes. It's not only for me, though, it's for my family. I don't want them to worry and I want to return safely so I can be a contributing member of my family.
I am not, in any way, demeaning travelers who like to stretch their dime. I'm just saying.....it's not for me. |
