My Travel Bible for now

1,000 Places To See Before You Die

This book has really energized my travel and driven me to get out in this beautiful world. So many times we can watch, or read, the news and fear for the state of our planet. Then, we can book a trip across the world and still find beauty of the natural earth, happiness in friendly people of all countries, and simplicity that will bring our life to a higher level of being.
I love books!!

Literature

I love to read. It's one of the reasons my day job is a second grade teacher :) I love teaching people to read, as well. Because of this, I try and read literature that belongs to a certain destination ahead of time or while traveling. If you guys have any book lists I'd love for you to share them with me. I think it makes the traveling come more alive.

My Tips

My tips are usually pretty different from others. When I started using VT 2 years ago (WOW!) I would include a lot of information from Wikipedia and showcase a lot of the history. But, lately, I've concluded that you probably have already researched most of the history if you're a travel worshiper like I. So, I started telling my story. How does a 25 year old girl (usually travelling with one friend or solo) experience the place? What did it sound like, smell like, etc... So, I hope that you aren't offended by my experiences. Sometimes I go off the edge. When in New Orleans I do what many other girls do, and in Vegas as well. I try to become part of the town and sometimes that means I let my hair down. I'm just here to tell you how I experienced it. So that when you visit you aren't caught off guard like I usually am with just knowing the history of a place. It's nothing like the history...it's all about the present!

Thank you kindly Brandy for visiting my Bridgeport page. Oh wow, wonderful article, you should be proud. We saw the Terra Cotta Warrior when the exhibit was in Santa Ana, yes it was fabulous. Have a great evening.

From a weather and daylight point of view, June is much the best. Christmas weather is usually grey, damp and chilly. June has green on the trees and flowers blooming. :-) J
