I was in Bangkok and Chaing Mai in December 1999. I am an American woman, and I was traveling alone. I found Thailand easy to get around in and very enjoyable. Unlike many people my age, I am *not* a backpacker - one of the things I like the most about SE Asia is how much more luxuriously I can travel than I can afford to in the US. I like to stay in nice hotels/resorts and spas, so if you want to talk about the "other" side of travel, let me know. I find that most online forums focus on getting around the cheapest instead of the most comfortably. If you have any tips, send them my way!
