<font color=darkblue>Hartford is the Capitol city of Connecticut. It is located centrally in the state like a hub with the many highways and interstates branching like spokes from it to surrounding destinations. The city is rich with history and although not large has plenty to offer if your interests lie in the arts and culture. This is a picture of the capitol building in Hartford, bordered by Bushnell Park. The gold-leafed dome shines in the sun and the building is a landmark not to be missed. While I was in college in Hartford in the early 80's, the dome of the Captitol building was re-done...a major project but a lasting one. It has never looked so beautiful. Recommended destinations while in Hartford: The Riverwalk (along the Connecticut River), the Mark Twain house (if not for it's history, then for it's unique beauty), Elizabeth Park particularly in peak rose season (June and July), and The Armory.
