Durango, the mountain resort

Durango in the 1890's
Under construction...

Durango, the small city in the southwest of Colorado with its famous Strater Hotel and the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad along the Animas River. The picture shows Durango in the 1890's.
Animas River

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge

It's a "must" to do this trip. Make reservation at least one day ahead (may be earlier in high season).
The views along the Animas River and through the canyon are incredibly beautiful.

I loved that train trip to Silverton. Thought I would pick a favorite of my travels to wish you both a Merry Christmas and say thank you for the card. Time to ski so will look for a letter telling me where you go this year to enjoy the snow.

Love the old steam engines. Colorado sure is a paradise.
