From Partenen, the last village in Montafon valley starts the scenic Hochalpenstrasse, which is open only during summer months. If you have time - and believe me, you shoud take your time - drive this street and you will enjoy the whole beauty of the mountains.
The fee to drive this road is only EURO 10.90 per car.

You discovered a great place with a wonderful scenery! I agree that € 10,90 is rather cheap, comparing with the Grossglockner alpine road ... it is time to discover my own country...
Does Remos drive those twisting roads very fast? My trip ideas for next year are changing to include this.

The lakes are beautiful even if artificial.. but gosh thats a lot of curves to go around to get there. I'd be driving too...:-)) Beautiful scenic areas Elisabeth.. ideal for just stopping and taking it all in.
