"Brits Abroad" Paphos by clouds111

Well what can I say about Paphos... It's not a place I would normally choose to go to. My partner and I, along with a few friends from the States went to Paphos for a friends wedding. Cyprus is apparently the 2nd most popular place to get married and I could quite believe it judging from the number we saw in just 4 days.

Despite Paphos being the mythical birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite it lacks any romance or culture. Now just among the many other Greek and Spanish towns that are full of sports bars and restaurants that cater for the bland English palate. However if you look hard enough you will find the odd treasure serving good traditional Cypriot food.

You cannot fault the weather and if that's what draws you to a place than Cyprus will be sure to deliver but if it's a cultural experiance you are looking for than give Paphos a miss.
