Hammamet

by clouds111 - last update: Jun 13, 2008

Hammamet is set up for the package tourists, but it's not as built up as I expected to it to be. There are a some hotels along the beach, particularly in the northern part but they didn't take up every in of the stretch of beach and you still get a very local feel about the place. I suspect Yasmine Hammamet a little further south may have been more built up.

The medina and fort located in central Hammamet is also good fun to get lost in.

Overall though it was lovely here, really friendly people and quiet as it was the end of the season. It was also Ramadan so many restaurants were closed during the day, opening only at sunset.
