Nightlife Spot: Nana Plaza
Nana Plaza (a red light district) in Sukhumvit is home to a number of GoGo bars. It is a fun place to pull up a chair and watch the people come and go and try to spot the kathoeys (ladyboys). Pharaohs bar right in the middle of the plaza on the ground floor is a good place to drink and people watch. Nana plaza is set over a couple of floors and has a number of the bars employ kathoeys only -Casanova and Cascade. I found that we generally got left alone (my boyfriend and I) and didn't get any hassle, although that may not be said if it were a group of guys, but I guess they generally know what they are going there for. Not a place I would normally go to hang out but while in Bangkok... Worth going just for the experiance.
