Gillette and Campbell County

Gillette is a decent sized town of nearly 30,000 located in Campbell County in Northeast Wyoming. Gillette is the county seat and is on Interstate 90. Gillette was incorporated on 6 January 1892 and was named after Edward Gillette, a plumber. The area has a lot of coal, coal bed methane gas, and oil so Gillette has named itself the "Energy Capitol of the US". The Campbell County Courthouse is fairly modern, but I like the combination of stone and brick. Nearby attractions include Devil's Tower National Monument, Medicine Wheel National Historic Landmark and several nice state parks.

The Rockpile Museum

The Campbell County Rockpile Museum houses displays about regional and local history with an emphasis on the culture and people of Campbell County, Wyoming.

Statues, Art and Stuff

Gillette also has some nice sculptures in the downtown area.
