Merrill and Lincoln County

Merrill is a nice sized town of about 18,000 located just north of Central Wisconsin. It is the county seat of Lincoln County and was named in 1881, replacing the logging town of Jenny Bull Falls. This area was first settled by Chippewa Indians before John Faely established a trading post here. The beautiful Lincoln County Courthouse was built in 1903 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Old City Hall

Unlike most towns the Merrill City Hall rivals the county courthose in beauty, and historical/architectural interest.

Merrill Historic District

Merrill has a very nice histroic district with several buildings if historical and/or architectural interest, many of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
