Vega and Oldham County

Vega is a small town in the panhandle of Texas not far from Amarillo. It is located along Interstate 40 (old Route 66) and has a population of about 1000. The area was settled in 1899 and the town was established in 1903. The Oldham County Courthouse was built around 1915. Vega was a popular stop along Route 66.

Magnolia Station

Another Route 66 landmark here is Magnolia Station an old-style gas station.

Route 66
