There is a Storytelling Festival in the town on the first weekend in November.

Grace Armantrout Museum

George West is home to a very nice museum called the Grace Armantrout Museum. Many of the displays were donated by Armantrout, and include a piano, house wares, early farm implements, railroad memorabilia, and collections of a variety of things like seashells, eyeglasses, rocks, firearms, and other things.

Buck West House

Buck West, nephew of town founder George West, built this house which is one of the oldest in George West. The home now houses the chamber of commerce and the welcome center.
