Corpus Christi

The Bay, Museums, and More

Favorite thing: Corpus Christi is a fairly large city with a population of about 300,000. It is located on the Gulf Coast and was first visited in 1519 by Spanish explorer Alonzo de Pineda. It was first settled in 1839 by Colonel Henry Lawrence Kinney. Corpus Christi takes full advantage of its location for a wide variety of water activities and recreation, The town is also quite pretty and is one of my favorite places in Texas. The towns has several nice places to stay, to eat and to party. Corpus Christi also has several fine museums.

Fondest memory: Highlights to my visit included: The seafood; the Texas Aquarium; the waterfront (especially the Nina); the Museum of Science and History; and the USS Lexington.
