About the Town - Pioneer Days

Brownwood was started around the 1850's. It remained a small village until the railroad came through in 1885. With the coming of the railroad the struggling town of Brownwood became a trade center in Central Texas. Brownwood has now become an important city in Central Texas with over 20,000 inhabitants. Brownwood has it's own Regional Airport and there are numerous historical sites of interest in the area.

Brownwood Museums

Brownwood has two very nice museums the Railroad Museum and the Brown County Museum.

Veterans Memorial

There is a nice veterans memorial to all the country's veterans.
