Jasper and Marion County

Jasper is a town of about 3300 located along Interstate 24 in Southern Tennessee where Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama come together near Chattanooga. Jasper was named for William Jasper a Revolutionary War hero from South Carolina. Jasper is the county seat of Marion County. Betsy Pack donated the land for the town in 1820. Marion County was formed in 1817.

Jasper Historic District

Jasper has a nice historic district with a few buildings of historic and/or architectural interest. There is one location in Jasper listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Veterans Memorials

There are a few veterans memorials located on the courthouse grounds honoring Marion County veterans.
