The Luna County Court House was built in 1910, and was designed by W. B. Corwin. It is one of the prettiest court houses in the state and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as is the park across the street.

Luna Mimbres Museum and Veterans

The Luna Mimbres Museum in Deming is listed as one of the best museums in New Mexico. On my visit, I found there to be very good reasons for that accolade. The museum has a wide variety of displays that are very well presented depicting the way people lived in Deming since it was founded in 1881. This museum is a must see if you are in Southern New Mexico. They also have an impressive collection of pottery from the Mimbres Tribe some of them dating back over 1000 years..

The Custom House

Across the street is another historic building "The Custom House". This was where the people crossing the border from Mexico would stop to pay customs duty on items they were bringing into the US. The building has been nicely restored with items from the period. The Custom House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
