Yanceyville and Caswell County

This area was settled in 1792 as Caswell Court House and was the county seat. In 1833 the town was incorporated as Yanceyville. Some claim the town was named for just one of the Yancey Family and some for the whole family. The old courthouse is one of my favorites and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is very interesting from both a historical and architectural viewpoint.

Richmond Miles History Museum

The Richmond Miles History Museum is better than many of the small town museums I have seen. It is a few blocks from the courthouse.

Civil Was Memorial

There is a nice Civil War Memorial in the small park in front of the old courthouse.
