Milaca and Mille Lacs County

Milaca is a decent sized town in East Central Minnesota. It has a population of just under 3000 and is the county seat of Mille Lacs County. Milaca is in a very pretty area and is along the Rum River. The Mille Lacs County Courthouse was built in 1923 when the county seat was moved here from the town of Princeton. This pretty building has Bedford Limestone placed over reinforced concrete and has very nice detailing inside including a leaded glass window inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. Ths courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Milaca Historic District

Milaca has a very nice historic district with several buildings of historical and/or architectural interest, some of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Veterans Park

Also of note is the very nice Veterans Park in the downtown area.
