Garden and the Garden Peninsula Museum

Garden is a small village (population about 425) located within Garden Township on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is on the Big Bay De Noc portion of Lake Michigan. There is a little museum here with nice displays about the logging and fishing industries, and a classroom display. There is also genealogical information about area residents. The museum is located in an historical building that has been a stagecoach stop & Post Office, a school, a store and a home. The building also hosted early Catholic Masses. The museum is open June through Labor Day or by appointment. Garden is on the way to Historic Fayette State Park.

Churches

There are two main churches in Garden, both with neat looking wooden buildings. Pictured here is the St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish Church.

Veterans Park

The town also has a small but nice Veterans Park with this memorial dedicated to those who served and especially those who paid the ultimate price.
