Dragoon and Dragoon Daze

Dragoon is a small community of antiques shops, artisans, and fans of the old west. Dragoon is located just off Interstate 10 between Benson and Willcox. Total population is about 300 to 500. Twice a year the Dragoon Women's Club hosts an event like Dragoon Daze (see my tip). The last one was 3 November. It consisted of a group of booths selling arts and crafts, a booth promoting the Amerind Foundation (see my tip), and a booth for the for the Southeast Arizona Democrats.

Amerind Foundation

Dragoon is the home of the Amerind Foundation a non-profit anthropological and archaeological research center with an impressive assortment of exhibits about Native American Culture. The foundation was established in 1937, and dedicates itself to research and education about all native cultures. In keeping with the location, the main emphasis is on the Indian Tribes in the Soutwest; but they have displays of cultures from the Arctic to the tip of South America running from pre-history to today. They also have an art museum on site. Entrance to both museums is $5. For more info see my tip.

Triangle T Guest Ranch

Dragoon is also home to the Triangle T Guest Ranch. The ranch offers camping, cabins, good food and drinks in an authentic old west saloon.
