Apache Junction is a small city on the east side of Phoenix with over 33,000 inhabitants. It is located on US Highway 60 and Arizona Highway 88 ("The Apache Trail"). It is also near the Tonto National Forrest and the Superstition Mountains, in a beautiful area.

Arizona Highway 88 has a number of places of interest along the route to include: Saguaro Lake; Canyon Lake; Apache Lake; Fish Creek Canyon; Tortilla Flat; the Roosevelt Dam; and Roosevelt Lake. The fabled Lost Dutchman Mine is also supposed to be in the area. Take a trip to Lost Dutchman State Park and maybe you can find the mine. Even if you don't you will find some nice hiking trails and breathtaking scenery. Travel Page coming soon.

    Beautiful photos and nice tips on the rugged scenery near Apache Junction! It is a place one does not hear much about with the Grand Canyon not so far away!
