If you want the combination of a jungle and a long river experience then go to Pagsanjan. Oh my, I fell in love with the place. I really fell in love with it. I really recommend it. It is our version of amazon where the river flows through magnificent canyons surrounded by greens. Imagine a long river ride with lush vegetation around, with bunch of cool monkeys playing on the trees and some cliffs if you came in from 6-7am (so please come early), then the long river (approximately more than 5 kilometers) leading you to a breathtaking falls. Don't read further. Imagine first

.... the relaxing and swaying greens
.... then the magnificent falls.

You don't really have to reach the falls to feel good, the river ride alone surrounded with the greens made you feel so at home with nature and oh-so romantic. You will be overwhelmed with emotions that are hard to explain - the mystery of the water, the eerie yet wonderful beauty of a jungle - so jungles really exist! Place that in between a long and lovely river. Wow! Now, add a falls at the end of the trip...oh my, I feel like exploding with great admiration and happiness!

Amazing race and show of strength

At first, I was kinda hesitant because I'm afraid of the wild river and I have this feeling that I will be thrown out of the boat given that I'm almost weightless. Wow! Haha. But then when I thought of the beauty of a falls (I've seen a 300+feet falls in Puerto Galera years back) it automatically made me deaf and dumb about my fear of being thrown out. Pagsanjan is a 2 1/2 to 3-hour drive from Manila. The boat rental costs Php660 per head plus Php90 (per head also) for the balsa that shall be utilized later - you transfer from the boat to the balsa if you want to have that water massage straight from the falls. You can buy a a hat there for Php 100 if you are not ready for several hours of direct rays from the sun or simply because it looks good on you. Hehe. No need to bring food since there's a restaurant in the middle of the river. Then the boatman will ask you for a Php2000 per head tip after the trip so better come prepared. Whoa! Of course, you can bargain or commit crime there. Haha.

Simply amazing!

There can be some cool surprises like the sudden rush of water or the playful currents. The boatmen really have to unnerve every single cell to keep us going. It was really a test of muscle power, alertness, and luck that the water will be nice to you. Haha. The exciting long river ride is enough pleasure already. I truly mean that. Now, imagine my heart palpitating as the lively and lovely falls unfolded in my eyes...
