Kho Samui was known for its coconut production. At one point the island was one of the largest exporters of coconuts in the world. These days things have changed a bit, the main industry being tourism. The resorts are building up, there are places to lose yourself in culture and food.
But adventure remains. Ang Thong National Marine Park sits just to the east of Kho Samui, an archipelago of 40+ islands begging to be explored. Kayak opportunities abound, with diving not far away.
