"Living in Mogadishu" Mogadishu by indobabe5

Lived in Mogadishu from 10/1989 thru 07/1990.... job asssignment with a major US natural resources company (private sector). Tenure cut short by civil unrest in Mogadishu, and the iminent disintegration of the government of Mohd Siad Barre, as well as the onset of the first Gulf War. Home and offices were in Mogadishu, spent a significant amount of time up country in the Eyl & Garoowe areas. A beautiful land and people, albeit deprived by political and economic reality as well as long held clan based differences and power struggles.
