Oman - Wadis, Forts and Beaches Oman has Ancient castles and forts, beautiful beaches, lovely scenery, mountains and desert. Muscat is renowned for its corniche and old fortified harbour with dhows as well as fine museums, architecture and the souk of Muttrah. Oman has some excellent luxurious hotels in the Gulf of Oman by the Arabian Sea, perfect for relaxation. Our tour took us to Nizwa, Sur and Wahiba Sands before spending the last week chilling out at the Chedi in Muscat |
| | Traditional Style Architecture There are no skyscrapers and most larger buildings adhere to traditional Arabic designs with new buildings either white or sand coloured. The new Grand Mosque is a typical example of tasteful modern Omani architecture. |
Peaceful, Tranquil Countryside Oman is not a busy country. Even Muscat is relatively relaxing for a capital city. The countryside is even more laid back and peaceful. Most of the roads are very good so it is easy to drive (we had a driver) from place to place. The scenery and particularly the Wadis are really pretty | | |
