Al Hajjarayn is a stunningly high town built on a rocky outcrop in the Wadi Doan area of Hadramaut and looks as though it may topple off, taking its 400 year old houses with it. Wadi Doan is one of the tributaries of Wadi Hadramaut, about 60km from Shibam. |
| | Steep Winding Streets Al Hajjarayn has steep winding streets, with small shops selling honey, which the area is famous for. |
Architecture The architecture is similar to that of Shibam, except the houses are not as tall and Al Hajjarayn, being smaller, is more attractive. As you walk around you notice the lovely gold colour of the buildings and the incredibly ornate doors | | |
