"Cape Town" a Cape Town Travel Page by CAROLINEARCHER

We had two days in Cape Town, arriving on 5th June, and leaving, the morning of the 7th June.

We stayed at The Portswood Hotel (see my review), and were due to go up Table Mountain, but due to bad weather we didn't.

Instead we toured the Langa Township, and drove down to Simons Town to see the Penguins at Boulders Beach!

We were all travel agents that had won a competition through Travel Weekly Magazine, to visit South Africa on an Educational being run by South Africa Tourism & Nationwide Airlines.

Cape Town is beautiful, multi-cultural and a serious shoppers paradise! The Mall on the V&A Waterfront provided us with a couple of hours of quality retail therapy. It would have been really great to have gone up the mountain, but being SA's winter, we knew this was down to the weather.

The Langa tour was really "gritty", it showed us how much we have and complain about, and how little some people have and just get on with it. The Local kids were really funny, dancing and following us around, we really enjoyed our day, some left with tears in their eyes, and other left with their eyes, well and truly opened!
