The town of Koblenz takes its name from the Latin confluentes - as this is where the Rhine and the Mosel converge. Koblenz is situated midway between Cologne and Mainz. It is often the starting place for beautiful Rhine cruises. A cruise or day trip down the Rhine affords views of many castles and wine villages on either side of the Rhine. |
