With scaffoldiing around part of the cathedral and in the main square I confess it rather took the shine off our visit
and I almost wished we'd spent the time back in Dusselfdorf.
However with exploring in the few hours we had before we flew back the city grew on me.
Perhaps with a longer stay it would have a better impression, so here's to the next visit.

Another great page! I did know the cathedral but I have never heard of Jewish Baths which looks very interesting! Strange taxis, indeed :-)

good tips on Cologne - glad (but disappointed) to hear about the scaffolding etc in advance of our trip in a couple of weeks time. Esp useful tips re getting to Cologned from the airport - we'll be on that easyJet Liverpool-Cologne route!

Ah Sandy, you took me back to the year 2000 when I first time visited beautiful Koln, and I was completly breath token when I first stood in front of the most wonderful and highest Cathedral in Europe ;-)
I wished I had been there to translate the story of the mosaic - now I'm curious too - and because we could have had another meeting like in Verona - thinking of it and smiling :-))) hugs
... and a much nicer tour guide ...
