"Ascending the heights of Adelboden" Adelboden by sandysmith

Spent 5 days here in the sunshine of Adelboden in the Brenese Obeland region and managed to ride all the gondolas in the area and do a fair bit of walking:

Here's the itinerary:
DAY 1
Morning arrival from Kandersteg and walked to Horeli to alpine garden and back. Time to explore town centre and check in hotel
DAY 2
local bus to Untem dem birg gondola up to Engstligenalp and walk down past the waterfalls. Afternoon took Tschenten gondola and took a trail back to Adelboden.
DAY 3
Gondolas to Hahenmoos pass, flower trail ad then up and over to the Butschi valley to Berglager gondola for easy ride back to Adelboden.
Day 4
Trip out to waterfalls (lower path) with VT friends and then on to Elsigenalp
Day 5
Lazy last day riding gondolas, some hiking and lunching on the Adelboden-Silleren-Hahenmoos Pass routes. Finally down to Hanging bridge near Frutigen

The Engstligenalp waterfalls are very beautiful and a main attraction of this area.

Lovely to meet up with Elisabeth (VT'er Rebibi) and Remo again and also to meet Elisabeth's sister Erika. Adelboden is a lovely place to enjoy the scenery and hikes of all ranges can be made as well as many other mountain sports.

• In a nutshell:great hiking area in sunny Switzerland
