Discovering Fribourg was an accident. It was an overcast day in Lausanne - no mountains to see today so with Swiss pass and train time-table in hand I looked to see where we could go and Fribourg was the answer. What a gem of a find. This city possesses an astonishing variety of architecture. The protected old town area - the most extensive in Europe - includes some 200 Gothic houses, numerous mansions combining German baroque and French classicism as well as churches and many monuments.

Sandy you have visit all the Switzerland. You should apply for the Swiss citizenship ;-) You`re right Fribourg is a very pleasant place and I really enjoyed my University year there.
