Quite a touristic village , set beneath the mighty Eiger in the Bernese Oberland. Not traffic free like neighbouring Wengen but there are plenty of places to escape from the crowds. Its an excellent centre for hiking of all levels...there's more to see here than the train journey further up the Eiger to the Jungfrau "Top of Europe" attraction. |

Sledging There are some great runs from Mannlichen down to Grindelwald and from First back down to Grindelwald. Me I just like to stop and admire the view of the Wetterhorn from the Mannlichen side. |  | |
