Saas Grund is the Saastal village below the gorge of Saas Fee.
Its a good central point for many intersesting hikes in this region of the Valais. A two stage gondola takes you up to a glacier viewpoint whilst the mid section at Kreuzboden has a lake with a wonderful view across to Saas Fee.

What no apple strudel?! Even with some cable car help, all that walking deserves more than coffee. ;) Must say I prefer this scenery to Greece, Sandy. Gorgeous shots have me hankering for an alpine getaway.

Land of the Mischabel!! I see you got a little higher on this trip than in Scheffau;-] Great pictures and tips. Not bad skiing here in the winter either.
