Le Petit Hotel: Our Base in Zermatt
  • Tip Rating:
  • Small and friendly UK travel company management run hotel. Not a typically swiss hotel but it was centrally located in the village, nice rooms and bathrooms. Great chef in the hotel too - meals were lovely each evening.

Unique Qualities: Roof top terrace - for views of the Matterhorn and surrounding peaks.

Le Petit: Le Petit Rooftop Terrace
  • Tip Rating:

  • Unique Qualities: The hotel had a rooftop terrace - great suntrap and you could orientate yourself with the mountains and gondola stations.
It also made for a fun snowball fight when we had the snow...and the view of the snowy trees and roofs of Zermatt was quite picturesque.

Grand Hotel Zermatterhof (Bahnhofstrasse 55.): 5 star Hotel
  • Tip Rating:
  • The most expensive place to stay in Zermatt I should imagine...5 star hotel.
Posh doormen and those fancy horse and carriages to bring you from the station to the hotel.

Butterfly: Best Western Hotel Compare Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • I added this because a friend of mine is staying here . Nice quiet location, beautiful balconies. Short walk from the station.

Sandy, fabulous page about Zermatt. I especially like your photos of the mountain lakes as we have been at most of them as well. I can't believe that you met Mr Ulrich Inderbinden. I only saw the fountain in the Hinterdorf which commemorates him.
