A marvellous 10 day break in Slovenia on the sunny side of the Alps staying in beautiful village of Dovje Mojstrana - thanks Marko you are a star!! The views of Triglav, Slovenia's highest mountain, are awe-inspiring here and I very much look forward to going back and seeing more of this beautiful country where there is much more to discover.
From Mojstrana, three valleys lead into the very heart of the Julian Alps:

Krma valley represents the easiest but longest way to Mt. Triglav. Surrounded with gorgeous mountains, it is popular for hikes and walks during the whole year.

Kot valley is remarkable for its solitude and quietness. Overshadowed by the pinnacled north face of Rjavina, it represents the shortest way to the top of Triglav.

Vrata valley is the most impressive of the three. It surprises one with its tremendous Triglav North Face, that shuts off the end of the valley like an enormous natural curtain. Ascent of Triglav from here is strictly for alpinists - its literally straight up!

Oh what a wonderful page, Marko promised to take me to Triglav long time ago, but I'm not sure if I can make it. Thank you, I enjoyed this "journey" with you very much.

A great area to truly get away for a grand holiday. Nice tips and splendid pictures from Baba. Much clearer than my visit. You can really see the topography!
