Salzburg Travel Guide: 2,644 reviews and 6,114 photos
Salzburg, the capital of the Salzburgerland region, lies in the centre of Austria. The lovely surroundings and well-preserved baroque architecture and its spacious squares, narrow old strets, monasteries, palaces and its castle and gardens makes this city a firm favourite of mine. Previous visits were taken many years ago with a not so good camera.
Plenty of other places to explore in this region too - I have enjoyed visiting Saalbach, Kaprun, Zell am See and the Salzburgerland lake district area with its picturesque resorts of St Wolgang, St Gilgen, Mondsee and Halstatt.
The latest visit in May 2004 was for meeting with Richie and Doreen in Salzburg. Being a very wet day I still didn't get many good pics but it was a good excuse to see the alternative Salzburg - i.e. the beer halls and of course I had the perfect guide for that ;-)
