Darlington Festivals

The weekend of our visit co-incided with the Darlington Festival and seen here in the market square they are setting up for an evening tribute concert to Tamala Motown bands. Several other such events occur throughout the year and in September they have heritage "open days" when many properties offer free behind the scenes tours of the architectural highlights of the town.

Blooming Darlington

All around Darlington you'll see an abundance of floral displays - apart from the floral locomotion. Even bus shelters get the flower treatment and its not surprising when you learn that Darlington has won numerous awards for "Northumbria in Bloom".
