    • There's no escaping the Beatle connection in Liverpool. Right from the moment you arrive at Liverpool's new airport its in your face. The old airport is now just down the road and the modern new one has a new name - the John Lennon Airport. Plus a very fine sculpture of its legendary namesake can be seen here too - unveiled by Yoko Ono.

    • The Beatles Story museum (situated in the Albert Dock complex) is a bit over-rated in my experience - but if you're a die-hard Beatles fan then by all means don't miss it. There are many posters, a lot of reading material on the walls, their costumes and musical instruments are displayed and of course their music is piped through as you walk around. There is a good shop (don't have to pay to go in this) where there is a plentiful supply of memorablia for purchase. A novelty factor is being able to get a penny pressed with the beatles imprinted on it.

    • See there's no escaping the fact that the Beatles came from this part of the world! This yellow submarine was once in the Liverpool Garden festival site - now long since neglected and ripe again for redevelopment. TYhen it was virtually opposite the Albert Docks but today - due to ongoing road works in that area - it is sitting outside John Lennon airport, and will do so for the next 5 years apparently!

    • The Grapes is the only traditional pub on Matthew Street - in fact the only pub here in the 1960's. Its sitauated opposite the Cavern Club so the Beatles would often pop in here for a drink before playing at the club. The pub still retains the seat and the wallpaper behind it where the Beatles once sat - so now everyone wants to come in here and have their photo taken in that same place.
